Terms of use
Who runs Modyard
Modyard is a personal project run by Gonzalo Verdugo, an individual based in Spain. It is free: there are no plans, no payments and nothing to buy. You can write to verdugogarridogonzalo@gmail.com about anything on this page.
By using Modyard, signed in or not, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
What Modyard is
Modyard is a marketplace of Claude Code mods: plugins built with function hooks. It stores the zip of each mod version, reads it to show what the mod touches, repackages it into a canonical zip and serves that zip so anyone can install it. Each publisher is a Claude Code marketplace served by Modyard.
Modyard never runs a mod. The preview on a mod page plays a sample session in an isolated frame of your browser, with a fake engine and no network: it shows what the mod draws, it does not execute the mod against your machine.
Modyard is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic.
Installing mods
A mod is code written by a third party, not by Modyard. When you install it, it runs on your machine, inside Claude Code, with the permissions you have there: it can read and write files, start processes, reach the network and change what Claude Code sends and shows, depending on what its author wrote.
- Modyard does not review mods before they are published. Anyone with an account can publish.
- The analysis is a reading aid, never a guarantee. Modyard reads the source of a mod and lists what it seems to touch. That list can miss things and can be wrong. It does not say that a mod is safe.
- Read the files of a mod before you install it. Every file of every version is shown on its page.
- You install mods at your own risk.
No warranty
Modyard and every mod on it are provided as they are, with no warranty of any kind: not that they work, not that they are safe, not that they fit any purpose, not that the site will stay available.
As far as Spanish and European Union law allows, Gonzalo Verdugo is not liable for any damage that comes from using Modyard or from installing, running or publishing a mod, including lost data, lost work, security incidents or costs. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Publishing mods
When you publish a mod, you do it as a publisher: the name your mods go under and your marketplace.
- You must own what you upload, or have the right to share it. That covers the code, the README, anything bundled in the zip and the licence you choose for it.
- You grant Modyard a licence to store your zip, read and analyse it, repackage it into a canonical zip and distribute it to anyone, free of charge and worldwide, for as long as the version is on Modyard and afterwards in the copies people already installed. You keep every other right in your work.
- Versions are immutable. A published version never changes. To fix something, publish a new version with a higher number.
- Mod names are unique across Modyard and go to whoever publishes first. Deleting a mod frees its name.
- Some names are reserved. Publisher slugs and mod names that could pass for Anthropic, Claude or Modyard cannot be used.
- There are upload limits. Each publisher can publish a limited number of versions per hour, and each zip has size and file limits.
What you must not publish
- Malware, or code that damages, spies on or takes control of the machine it runs on.
- Code that steals credentials, tokens, keys or session data.
- Code that sends data out of the machine without saying so clearly in its README.
- Anything that impersonates Anthropic, Claude, Modyard or another person or project.
- Illegal content, or content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Spam: mods published only to fill the catalogue, push links or copy other mods.
Reports and removal
Anyone who is signed in can report a mod from its page, with a reason and details.
Modyard may remove a mod or a single version, hide it from the catalogue or block a publisher when they break these terms or put people at risk. When there is risk to people who install a mod, this can happen at once and without notice. Removing a version from Modyard does not remove it from machines where it is already installed.
