See it run

A sample Claude Code session played through this mod's hooks, in your browser. What it draws is drawn. Files, network, processes and the model are never reached: each call is listed under the terminal with the stand-in it got.

It is a simulation: a mod that depends on a real answer shows what it does with an empty one.

README

protect-paths

Refuses any Edit or Write on a file that should not change by accident: .env files, keys, and the lockfiles of npm, bun, pnpm, yarn, Cargo, Go and Poetry. The paths option adds globs of your own, comma-separated (migrations/**, *.tf); a glob with no slash matches the file name at any depth. Claude gets told which rule stopped it, and the person can still edit by hand.

It does not read commands: a Bash command that writes one of those files is not stopped.

It touches tool calls (Edit and Write, which it can refuse).
